Hi-Tech Happiness by loveplusmarriage
Seattle is the land of Microsoft so we have a high population of tech-heads who are bound to get hitched (insert cheesy music a la Computer Love). Maybe you even met online? Technology is so intertwined in our daily lives that it is actually easy to introduce high-tech concepts into your wedding day.
A great start is to develop a wedding website with all of the details of the event. Save the Date cards and Invitations can sent through email and it will be super easy to communicate with your guests.
The best location for a high-tech wedding is the Experience Music Project (EMP) in downtown Seattle. The museum was founded by Microsoft head honcho, Paul Allen, and features modern, futuristic architecture. They regularly hold private events and your guests will be blown away by the extravagant location. The venue features fuscia uplighting which will incorporate perfectly with your color scheme.
Your dress, by an avant-garde designer, is a one-of-a-kind look for your wedding day. It is ultra-modern with origami style fabric folds and strikingly feminine. The bridesmaid's dresses have little fabric folds under the bustline and can be found at Alfred Angelo. The bridesmaid dresses at my wedding were by Alfred Angelo and the quality and fit was impeccable. They have a new Tukwila location and the line is carried in most bridal shops.
The decor at the reception is high class, high tech. The flowers, from Trudy's Flower Designs are orchids in varying shades of pinks and reds and bring an elegance and modern touch with their exotic shape. Guests will be assigned to tables which will have scrolling LED lights on them with the table names. The cake table will feature digital photo frames which will showcase family wedding photos and your engagement photos. And the cake toppers? Mini boy and girl robots from Archie McPhee.
The music will be records spun by a live club DJ and will be focused on hot genres, no Macarena or Bunny Hop at this wedding! There will be a "Gaming" area at the reception where your friends and family, young and old, will play on the Wii. Can you imagine a heated bowling competition between the best man and your grandma? So fun!
Then, after the thrill of the wedding is winding down and you are happily setting into life as newlyweds, you will get an email alert on your iPhone, notifying you that your wedding video is now available! Forward the message to your friends and family, with a link to vimeo where they can all watch it online. The day will live on forever!
