Vintage Real Wedding

Vintage Blog by loveplusmarriage

Hands down, vintage is my favorite look for a wedding. My husband is a graffiti artist with dreadlocks down his back so somehow, recreating a total vintage theme wouldn't work for us. We did add touches of vintage charm in our wedding. The bouquets at my wedding had silver and rhinestone broaches pinned around the hand tied stems and each flower arrangement also had a broach on the vase. My mom and I scoured thrift and antique stores until we found that on ebay, you can find a ton of them and they are usually cheaper than the cost of shipping!
The real wedding I want to showcase today is the wedding of Amanda and Matt that was featured on Brooklyn Bride, photographed by Jessica Johnston. The bride covered every detail and the venue could not have been better. Her birdcage veil and her shoes and purse - oh my! The bride, Amanda, has started a blog called Vintage Glam that has freebies and tutorials on DIY projects. It is a must visit for any bride looking to create a vintage wedding of her own!
Love+ classy ladies,
Megan

Gothic Chic Real Wedding

Gothic Chic by loveplusmarriage

When I came across this real wedding on Offbeat Bride, my jaw dropped. The photos are phenomenal, they were influenced by old black and white film and were executed to perfection. The wedding was created by a real magician and his lovely assistant. It included stunning vintage influenced details such as the bride's headpiece. This is the ultimate Gothic chic wedding! More photos here...I want to post them all!
Love + magic,
Megan

About Me - Megan Loctor

I thought I should tell you something about myself. I am a newlywed! My husband Asher and I were married on May 24th, 2008 at the Tacoma Museum of Glass. Of course, it was my own wedding that cemented for me that I should follow my passion. We didn't have a coordinator and I invested countless hours planning my wedding. No matter how many hours were in the day, I could always find time to check the latest wedding blog updates and style ideas. The day of the wedding, I truly realized how valuable a coordinator is (thank you to my gem of a sister for her smooth moves). Since my wedding fever continued after the wedding, I decided to launch my own business, Love+Marriage. My husband is an artist and owns his own business so we just "think that way". We have that go-for-it spirit. And we don't care that our kitchen table is never cleared off. Recently my friend Michele joined me in the biz and we work great as partners. Love you, lady!
Aside from wedding planning, I love creating art and nesting with my hubby and my two kitties, Biggie and Moxie. In the coming posts you will get a feel for my personal style which I think is a cool mix of urban influences and vintage glory as well as my excitement about throwing a beautiful, memorable event.
Love + new beginnings,
Megan
