A Perfect Proposal

I have always loved stories. Books, magazines, meeting a friend over coffee, spoken in my ear before bed. Stories long and short about you and me. Stories that make me cry, from joy, from sorrow.
I love to listen to Story Corps on NPR during my morning drive to work. They are a little slice of someone's life in their own voice told over the radio.
Story Corps is an example of how some of the best stories are tucked inside of very normal people. They are stories you would never know unless you were close to someone and it just reminds me that there are so many beautiful stories out there.
Plus, they make me cry almost all the time.
One listen to this proposal and you will know you exactly what I mean.

About Me - Megan Loctor

I thought I should tell you something about myself. I am a newlywed! My husband Asher and I were married on May 24th, 2008 at the Tacoma Museum of Glass. Of course, it was my own wedding that cemented for me that I should follow my passion. We didn't have a coordinator and I invested countless hours planning my wedding. No matter how many hours were in the day, I could always find time to check the latest wedding blog updates and style ideas. The day of the wedding, I truly realized how valuable a coordinator is (thank you to my gem of a sister for her smooth moves). Since my wedding fever continued after the wedding, I decided to launch my own business, Love+Marriage. My husband is an artist and owns his own business so we just "think that way". We have that go-for-it spirit. And we don't care that our kitchen table is never cleared off. Recently my friend Michele joined me in the biz and we work great as partners. Love you, lady!
Aside from wedding planning, I love creating art and nesting with my hubby and my two kitties, Biggie and Moxie.In the coming posts you will get a feel for my personal style which I think is a cool mix of urban influences and vintage glory as well as my excitement about throwing a beautiful, memorable event.

Love + Marriage - The Blog

I have decided to start this blog to be geared toward the wedding industry. I began blogging shortly after my wedding in May, mostly because my little niece was born and when they moved to California, her mother, my sister-in-law, started a blog so that we could follow her while she grew. She inspired me to create a personal blog that would include personal reflections on the beginning of our marriage. I will continue to blog there but also wanted to have a blog focused on my passion, wedding and event planning.

Around the same time that I started the blog, I also started a new business, Love+Marriage Event Planning. It all started with a business license and an advertisement on Craigslist. I am going to backtrack a little to post pictures of my inspiration and how it influenced my wedding. I will also share stories and pictures of some of the events I have been lucky enough to take part in. Then we will talk inspiration. I am constantly inspired by things I see, vintage to modern, big productions to do-it-yourself functions. I love the process of taking art and inspiration and creating a celebration of love!
